Homemade Finger Paints

When your budget is strained by your gift list, get creative. Young children will be delighted with a set of homemade finger paints. Include a dollar store plastic tablecloth to protect the artists' work area and their parents will be equally happy! Homemade Finger Paints 3 tablespoons sugar 1/2 cup corn starch 2 cups cold water Food colouring Dish soap Mix sugar and corn starch together in a medium saucepan. Place over low heat. Add water and continue stirring until mixture is thick. Remove from heat. Divide mixture into portions and add drops of food colouring and 1 to 3 drops of dish soap to each portion. Mix well. Store in airtight containers.
